Airport transfers are some of the most common jobs on Uways. To help you run them smoothly, we put together a guide for each of the busiest airports on the network. Each one covers the terminal layout, typical drive times to popular destinations and what usually delays a pickup.
The airport guides
- LAX: nine terminals on one loop, with international arrivals at the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
- SFO: four terminals around one garage, and morning fog that can slow arrivals.
- San Diego (SAN): two terminals on a single runway, about 3 miles from downtown.
- Boston Logan (BOS): Terminals A, B, C and E, linked to downtown through the harbor tunnels.
- Chicago O'Hare (ORD): Terminals 1, 2 and 3 in the core, and Terminal 5 on its own road for most international flights.
- Miami (MIA): one horseshoe terminal with Concourses D to J, and plenty of cruise transfers to PortMiami.
How do I get black car and limo jobs at the airport?
Download Uways, register your vehicle and set your mile range around the airport. Airport transfers posted by other operators on the network show up in the app. Each job shows the terminal, flight number, passenger count and vehicle type before you accept it.
What if the flight is delayed?
Open the flight from the job to see the real landing time. If the delay changes your plans, message the operator in the app. Weather is the usual cause: fog at SFO, snow at Boston Logan and O'Hare, and summer storms at MIA.
How long should I wait for international passengers?
Plan on 45 to 90 minutes after landing. Customs takes time, so time your wait from when the passenger clears it, not from the landing time. Waiting at the cell phone lot saves you from circling the terminal roadway.
Can I post my own airport overflow?
Yes. When you have more airport pickups than vehicles, post the job on Uways and another chauffeur on the network can cover it, so no client is left waiting at arrivals.
